Stutensee, Germany – February, 2023 – Tria is launching a comprehensive starter kit for its scalable TRIA SM2S-IMX93 SMARC 2.1.1™ module family based on NXP™ Semiconductors’ i.MX 93 applications processors. The TRIA SM2-SK-IMX9-EP1 SMARC 2.1.1 starter kit contains all necessary components to quickly enable the customer to evaluate the TRIA SM2S-IMX93 modules and start application development.

The TRIA SM2-SK-IMX9-EP1 starter kit includes the Mini-ITX SMARC carrier board TRIA SM2-MB-EP1, a suitable cooling solution, the SD card for the Linux installation plus the required USB SD card reader, and a power supply including cables. The required module variant can be selected from the standard TRIA SM2S-IMX93 family depending on customer needs. Complementary LVDS display kits with various resolutions and sizes are available upon request.

Tria’s compact TRIA SM2S-IMX93 SMARC 2.1.1 module family is equipped with i.MX 93 applications processors manufactured by NXP Semiconductors. The processors integrate single or dual Arm® Cortex™-A55 cores up to 1.7 GHz, one Arm Cortex-M33 real-time processor up to 250 MHz and an efficient 2D graphics processing engine. A highlight of the new processors is the Arm Ethos™-U65 microNPU, enabling developers to create more capable, cost-effective and energy-efficient machine learning (ML) applications.

The TRIA SM2S-IMX93 modules feature a typical design power of 2 – 4 Watts and are suitable for low-power applications including industrial automation (industrial HMI, machine vision and control, gateways), smart home and building automation (heat pumps, thermostat, security), industrial transport and grid infrastructure (EV charging, environmental control, energy meter).
